Leonardo da Vinci was a leading artist and intellectual of the Italian Renaissance. Possessor of a curious mind and keen intellect, da Vinci studied the laws of science and nature, which greatly informed his work as a painter, sculptor, architect, inventor, military engineer and draftsman. His painting was scientific, based on a deep understanding of the workings of the human body and the physics of light and shade. His science was expressed through art, and his drawings and diagrams show what he meant, and how he understood the world to work.
This book is a biography of Leonardo da Vinci with a chronological table of events in history and art and a topographical index of Leonardo's works.
